STAFF at an Alicante school have staged protests after the headmaster was punched by a parent and injured by a parent. The incident came about after a mix-up regarding school dinners and the parent immediately apologised, repeating this to the police when they became involved. Fernando Llorens, the headmaster of Gloria Fuertes School where the incident happened, is still debating whether to press formal charges against the parent.
However to show their support, and highlight the general problem of violence against school staff, workers and teachers stood outside the school this week with a giant “No violence against teachers” banner. They also received the support of many families who have children at the centre.
