SANDRA Franco was murdered in 2010 in a brutal fashion after being shot three times in the head. The spotlight fell on the wife of a man she was alleged to be having an affair with and prosecutors believed she had hired two hit-men to carry out the killing. However in an Alicante court the jury has found the three not guilty of the murder charge due to lack of evidence. Although it seems threats were made against Ms Franco, the jury felt that there was insufficient evidence that one of the accused, Silvia CK, had ordered the assassination. While the two alleged “hitmen” have been cleared the prosecution has asked for a sentence of two and a half years for Silvia CK for the threats made against the victim, something that the judge must now rule on. Sandra Franco was a Colombian national who was murdered in the Marina Alta town of Denia in April 2010.
