A super yacht, owned by an Italian billionaire spent last weekend moored in the Bay of Altea, just a few hundred metres offshore from tourists sunning themselves on the beaches of bustling Playa del Albir.
The 77 metre, luxury motor yacht, named Boadicea, owned by Nigerian based, Italian born, businessman Gabriele Volpi, was moored in the bay from Friday to Sunday, causing great interest amongst Albir and Altea residents and visitors, who even took to the water in small boats, to get a closer look at the boat and its occupants.
The yacht, currently for sale by a firm of shipping brokers, Fraseryachts, for a cool 47.5 million euros, can host up to 16 guests in 8 cabins and carries a staff of 23 plus uniformed security guards.
Boasting an on board spa, heated swimming pool, gym, diving platform, helipad and large sundeck, Boadicea is also available for private charter for 525,000 euros per week during the Summer.
Whether, the 75 year oldVolpi, who is worth in the region of 2 billion euros, was on board at the time remains unclear, but the onboard guests, could clearly be seen, enjoying the luxury facilities at their disposal.
