A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy from Bristol who has been missing since March has been found in Spain and reunited with his mother.
Angelo Jurado-Marmolejo was spotted by authorities at Madrid Airport last Saturday after he got off a flight from Mexico with his father Rafael Jurado-Marmolejo.
Mr Jurado-Cabello, who was wanted on suspicion of child abduction, was arrested under a European Arrest Warrant, after not bringing his son back home after an arranged visit.
It emerged that he had previously abducted Angelo during a half-term break in February 2017, and one theory had been that he had been taken to the Cordoba region of Spain, where the boy had been born,
The outcome follows an investigation by Avon and Somerset Police with support from the National Crime Agency, Crown Prosecution Service, and the authorities in Spain.
Angelo’s mother Karol Marmolejo said: “This is the best Christmas present of our lives. I really appreciate all the support we’ve received during this very difficult time, including all the help from the public.”
Avon and Somerset Police are now liaising with Spanish authorities and the National Crime Agency to extradite Jurado-Cabello back to Britain.
