THREE people have been arrested by Alicante’s Guardia Civil on suspicion of various serious crimes including drug trafficking, vehicle theft, armed robbery and burglary. They are believed to be behind an armed robbery on a currency exchange booth in Torrevieja last August where €25,000 was stolen. They are also thought to have stolen at least two truck trailers and resold the cargo as well as dealing in large amounts of cocaine, hashish and marijuana. Goods to the value of around half a million Euros were seized in the raid on 7 March including cash, drugs, marijuana plants and cultivating equipment plus high end cars and motorcycles. Two men have been detained in prison while the third person, a woman, has been charged although not detained.
