500 RESIDENTS of San Miguel de Salinas took to the streets on Sunday to oppose the recent start on building a funeral home on Calle San Marcisco in the town.
The home will be located in the basement area of a block where several families live and the protestors claim that the funeral premises will “worsen” their living conditions.
They said that the go-ahead for the facility in a residential area of San Miguel breaks urban planning rules and that they were given no warning that it would be going ahead.
They are concerned about increased noise from visitors as well more cars being parked in the area and have pointed out that after years of the nearest funeral home being in Torrevieja, another company recently opened a facility on a local industrial estate.
