THE Vega Baja region of Valencia experienced a small earthquake at around midnight on the 9 March.  The tremor measured 2.7 on the Richter scale with the epicentre being in Los Montesinos at a depth of 12 kilometres. Some people felt the effects in Torrevieja, Elche, Rojales and surrounding areas but no damage was reported or emergency calls received. An earthquake of between 2 and 3 on the Richter scale is officially described as “Minor. Felt slightly by some people. No damage to buildings.”
