THE Marina Alta Arts Society will hold its first meeting of the new year on 6 February at the usual venue of Teulada’s Canor Salon. The lecture is by Stella Lyons and her subject is “Charles Rennie Mackintosh – More than a Tea Room”. Ms Lyons is a freelance Art History lecturer and accredited speaker who has an MA in the subject. She will be celebrating the works of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the renowned Glaswegian artist and architect as well as his wife Margaret. Mackintosh became world-famous for his innovative modern works and his influence remains to this day. His wife was an important artist in her own right and her work is also some of the most important in the field.
Wine and soft drinks will be available as usual. You can register on the day from 9.45 am and, prior to the 11 am lecture, the AGM will be held at 10.15 (members only).
