Interesting news this week, confirming that old rock stars never die, they just go on tour.
Figures for the top grossing music tours of the year to date, were released and within the top ten, half of them to put it kindly, would easily qualify for their bus pass, should they wish to apply.
Sir Elton John, who is currently in the midst of a huge farewell tour, grossed £64.7m from 56 concerts between November last year and May this year, sits comfortably at number one.
Other ageing rockers making up the list are, Fleetwood Mac, Metallica, Kiss and Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.
Only Pink, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran and Travis Scott appeared to represent the younger generation.
However, one name on the list totally baffled me, as apparently the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, sat at number 8.
No idea who they are, but I have a delicious vision of transvestite Cossacks, playing violins conjured up in my mind.
