THE trial of the former Pilar de la Hordada councillor accused of corruption has been suspended due to failure to put together a full jury.  The case against Francisco Javier Lara was due to begin on 8 March in Elche’s crown court but will now be held on an unknown date in the future. Lara has been accused of abusing his former position as Pilar de la Hordada’s Heath and Fiesta’s councillor to illicit bribes, notably a new car from a company tendering for work in the town. The firm refused to pay the alleged bribe and instead reported the incident which has led to the prosecutors believing Lara has a case to answer.
