THE police’s only real suspect in the disappearance of a young Valencian woman has handed himself in to the authorities according to reports. On 6 November 25-year-old Marta Calvo had arranged to meet Jorge Ignacio PJ in person after they got to know each other online. She has not been seen since and the property where they were due to meet has been intensively cleaned, leading police to suspect attempts to cover up a serious crime.

There has been an intensive search in the area for both Ms Calvo and Colombian national Jorge Ignacio while the young woman’s family have said that they have accepted the fact that she has been killed. In the latest development, the suspect walked into a Guardia Civil barracks in the early hours of Wednesday morning. There are reports that he has confessed to killing Ms Calvo and dumping her body in a rubbish container, but these have not been confirmed by the police.
