CIRCARTE, an international circus festival which never uses animals, is setting up it’s big top across Alicante province from 14 to 29 September and Denia is the venue for three of the activities for the first time.
On 16 September there is “Circ d’Aci”, a spectacular gala. This features jugglers, acrobats and trapeze artists among other things and will be a mixture of traditional and contemporary circus acts. The venue is the Denia Social Centre Auditorium from 7pm and entrance is free.
The following day the action moves outside to Calle La Via and will also feature a circus skills workshop for kids of four years and up (pre-registration required). This runs from 5pm to 6.30pm and is followed by a show performed by the Mumusic Company, a mix of circus skills, dancing, theatre and live music.
Other venues across the province include El Campello, Alicante City, Sant Joan d’Alacant, San Vicent del Raspeig (the university) and Mutxamel. See www.circarte.com for further information or speak to the local town hall at the various venues.
