Whirlpools World

Many tributes have been paid over the past few days, following the death of Mark Hollis, whose pop synthesiser band Talk Talk, were an integral part of the eighties music scene.

The sixty four year old musician, who died after a short illness, was responsible for some of the biggest hits of the era, ‘It’s My Life’, ‘Talk Talk’ and ‘Life’s What You Make It’.

Perhaps the most poignant tribute came from songstress Charlotte Church, who wrote in The Guardian, “Spirit of Eden is, hands down, one of the greatest records ever made. The amount of healing that record allows is nothing less than a beautiful gift and I am ever thankful for it.”

That’s made me want to go and search out the album …. RIP Mark.
